Accessibility Statement

Our aim is a website everyone can use, whatever device, ability or assistive technology they rely on.

Last reviewed: 2 October 2026

In short: we build this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. It passes our automated and keyboard testing, but it has not yet been checked by an independent auditor or with screen readers, so we describe it as tested but not independently verified. If something does not work for you, please tell us.

1. Our standard

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA, the recognised standard for accessible websites and a sound basis for the reasonable adjustments the Equality Act 2010 asks of service providers. This statement covers clearskinclinic.co.uk.

2. What we have done

  • A “Skip to main content” link is the first thing you reach with the Tab key.
  • Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a clearly visible focus outline, and the fixed header and action bars never cover the item you are on.
  • Text and controls meet the required colour contrast, including text over photographs and in the dark sections.
  • Pages reflow to a single column at narrow widths and when you zoom in, with no sideways scrolling, and keep working if you increase text spacing.
  • Buttons and links are at least 24 by 24 pixels, and the mobile call, WhatsApp and booking bar uses larger targets.
  • The homepage background video can be paused, and it does not play at all if your device is set to reduce motion. Other animation also respects that setting.
  • Images have text descriptions, headings follow a logical order, and each page has a unique title and clear landmarks.
  • The enquiry form has visible labels, fills in your details automatically where your browser supports it, and announces errors and confirmation to screen readers.
  • The before-and-after comparison can be used with the keyboard, and has a side-by-side view as an alternative to dragging.
  • The Google map and analytics only load if you choose them, so nothing unexpected interrupts you.

3. How we tested

On 2 October 2026 we ran the open-source axe-core accessibility engine against every page at desktop and phone widths, with no failures reported. We also tested by hand: tabbing through key pages with the keyboard, checking focus is never hidden, viewing at 320 pixels wide, applying the WCAG text-spacing settings, and checking tap-target sizes.

Automated tools and our own checks catch many problems but not all of them. We have not yet tested with screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS or VoiceOver, and the site has not been audited by an independent specialist. We will update this statement when that has been done.

4. What we know is not perfect

  • Online booking is run by Booksy. The booking links take you to Booksy’s own website, which we do not control. If you find it hard to use, you can book by phone on 01274 630006, by WhatsApp, or by email.
  • The map is Google’s. It is only shown if you ask for it, and Google is responsible for how that map works. Our address is written out in full on the contact page, so you never need the map to find us.
  • Before-and-after photos are illustrative. They show the type of result a treatment can achieve and are described in text, but they are not photographs of specific patients.

5. Tell us about a problem

If you cannot use part of this website, need information in a different format, or want to suggest an improvement, please contact us and say which page and what device or assistive technology you were using:

We aim to reply within 5 working days, and to fix reported problems as soon as we can.

6. If you are not satisfied

If you are not happy with our response, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (opens in a new tab), which gives free advice on discrimination and equality.
